Honest CO2 FIRERETARDANT has all the same characteristics of CO2 but features a special self-extinguishing additive. CO2 FIRERETARDANT Formulation is a three component acrylic reinforced aliphatic, aromatic polyurethane protective coat in system specially designed to meet the FAA's fire retardant standard for aircraft interiors. It establishes solid adhesion to various substrates and can be applied to horizontal, vertical, overhead and irregular shaped surfaces.
Possible Applications Include:
oC Fire & Rescue Vehicles
oC Aircraft Interiors
oC Storage Tanks
Fire Retardant Coating is a proprietary resin designed specifically as an Intumescent Safety Coating.Fire Retardant Formulation Paint is mainly designed for interior applications, but can be used in some exterior applications with a waterproof top coat. The product can be applied over most surfaces to form a protective fire retardant layer. When the retardant coating is exposed to fire or extreme heat, a thick, protective layer of foam and carbon char develops, isolating the substrate from the fire.

Application
Fire Retardant Formulation Paint Fire Retardant is a two-part system, consisting of the Fire Retardant Formulation Paint resin and T-50 Curing Agent. They are to be mixed at a ratio of 4 parts Fire Retardant Formulation Paint to 1 part T-50 by volume. Once Fire Retardant Formulation Paint is well mixed, the product can be applied via brush, spray or roller. The product must be given sufficient time to properly cure. Both tack and cure times may be greatly enhanced by low humidity conditions and/or moving air. See application instructions for more details.
Fire Retardant Formulation Paint is not waterproof or UV resistant. If the product is applied on exterior surfaces or high humidity interior applications, a water proof top coat must be applied to ensure the long-term protection of the system.
Properly applied Fire Retardant Formulation Paint provides Class A or Class B fire protection. Fire Retardant Formulation Paint's Class A rating was achieved at 7.64 wet mils on Douglas Fir. A slightly modified version passed the UL 94V0 test on PVC.
The product may be used on most surface types as long as the product adheres to the substrate. It is recommended that a small sample be tested for adhesion prior to full-scale application.
Flame Seal Products also has a non-flammable primer/tie coat (ADH-1) available for helping Fire Retardant Formulation Paint stick to hard-to-adhere-to surfaces, such as plastics.
